Consejos para no ser infectados por los Virus

1.- Activar la opción de actualizaciones automáticas de Windows |
|
Los virus que hay actualmente (Blaster / Sasser) aprovechan un fallo de seguridad de Windows y se instalan en el sistema, aunque tengamos antivirus.
El primer paso para desinfectar estos virus es tener el Windows Actualizado
En Windows XP Botón derecho encima de Mi PC / Propiedades / Actualizaciones automáticas Marcar Mantener mi equipo al día / Configuración marcar Descargar automáticamente e instalarlas Esta opción nos descargará las actualizaciones cuando haya conexión a Internet. Si queremos forzar la actualización y hacerla ahora mismo, seguir el procedimiento de Windows98
En Windows2000 (hay que tener Service Pack 3 como mínimo) Aqui el Windows Update está en Inicio / Configuración / Panel de Control Seguir el mismo procedimiento que en XP
En Windows NT Hay que hacerlo de forma manual
En Windows 98 Hay que hacerlo de forma manual Conectarse a la página www.windowsupdate.com Seleccionar Buscar actualizaciones (si nos sale una pantalla preguntando decir que si) Comprobar si hay actualizaciones criticas por bajar Si fuera que SI seleccionar la opción comprobar e instalar actualizaciones Y seleccionar Actualizar ahora Es posible que pida reiniciar el equipo varias veces Conectarse a la página www.windowsupdate.com hasta que no quede ninguna actualización crítica por instalar.

2.- Tener un buen antivirus actualizado (Norton Antivirus a ser posible) |

Si no tenemos antivirus es conveniente de vez en cuando conectarse a cualquier página de Antivirus Online Gratuitos y escanear el disco de forma completa De esta forma limpiaremos el virus, pero no tendremos la misma protección permanente que nos da un programa antivirus instalado |

Show Hidden Files and Folders not working?
A few days back, a client came to me and told me that he was having trouble with his Windows XP. The show hidden files and folders was not working at all. If he selected the radio button “Show hidden files and folders”, and then press Ok .. the changes would just disappear upon opening the dialog again. It was probably some virus attack after which the Windows registry was not being updated properly. So here is what I did to restore it back. There are so many methods to restore back the registry. If one method is not working, please try another one.
Go to
registry editor by running regedit in the run box.
Go to this key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\
Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced
In the right hand area, double click hidden and change the value to 1.
Now you’re all set to go. Check it in your tools menu if the changes have taken effect.
1. Click
“Start” -> “Run…” (or press Windows key + R)
2. Type “regedit” and click “Ok”.
3. Find the key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\
Advanced\Folder\Hidden\SHOWALL
4. Look at the “CheckedValue” key… This should be a DWORD key. If it isn’t,
delete the key.
5. Create a new key called “CheckedValue” as a DWORD (hexadecimal) with a value
of 1.
6. The “Show hidden files & folders” check box should now work normally. Enjoy!
